This September marks 11 years in business for Palermo and what a journey it's been!

So much has changed since then, including myself, but one thing has remained the same. My dedication to creating quality products with the finest natural ingredients for our customers.

You may already know I’m expecting my first baby in September, but if you didn’t, it's a girl!! As my due date fast approaches, I’ve been looking ahead to what’s next for me on my journey with Palermo and I’ve decided to pause our operations for a while and take a true maternity leave.

This wasn’t my original plan when I shared that a New Chapter was coming, but when we moved out of our studio in June, and after a brief health scare in July (baby and I are totally fine now), the vision for my transition between chapters shifted. I now know that I need real time away to figure out what's next for Palermo before beginning a New Chapter.

So here's where I really need your help. In the couple months before moving out of our production studio I had been building stock to bridge us through the months it would take to transition to our new manufacturer.

Now, instead of bridging us for months, I have just two weeks to sell our inventory before I take maternity leave. Everything in this collection is fresh, and selling through it is what will make reopening down the road possible.

• I can’t promise I will be bringing back the products in our current collection so stock up! Everything was made fresh in the last few months with a shelf life of at least 1 year or longer!!

What's Next?

• I’m going to take time to bond with my baby and slow down for long enough to figure out what I want the future of Palermo to look like. Leaner, more stable, and a healthier environment for me.
• Our spa partnerships have been a bright spot in the past few years. I'd like to spend time after my postpartum recovery figuring out how to build around that more. And possibly create a new collection that reflects the ethos we’ve always had while offering a fresh perspective.
• I'd like to keep writing on my Substack but not putting any pressure on myself. I plan to share a longer post with more detail on this decision sometime next week so I would love if you'd keep in touch and subscribe, it's free!​

The past few months have been an emotional rollercoaster, and I’ve needed to make decisions that have been really hard, I hate feeling as though I've let anyone down. I've put off making this decision for as long as possible, pressing pause at 36 weeks pregnant is not what I initially had in mind, but I need to trust myself and follow what feels right vs try to push for how I envisioned things.
